Mixed Media Earrings

Leftovers - these were made from scrap pieces of sterling silver and copper. The sterling silver back pieces were hammered, copper wire was flattened and soldered onto them. A center hole was cut.  A small copper strip holds the store bought "gear". The earwires are handmade from SS wire.

Silver Leafs - a 2" wide piece of sterling silver sheet is cut in a leaf shape and folded. It is hammered on opposite sides to make it bend. Once opened it forms this great leaf shape.  The final step is to fire it to bring out all these gorgeous colors.  They hang 2.5" from handmade sterling silver ear wires.

Brass Tacks II - a 1/4" wide strip of brass was cut, roughed up and folded. Sterling silver ear wires were fired and thread through. Very simple, yet very elegant.

Copper Stairway - 8g copper wire was cut, fired and then twisted to form this spiral shape. A patina was applied and then they were sealed to preserve the color.  Earrings hang 1 3/4" long from handmade sterling silver ear wires.

Silver Spheres - scrap sterling silver pieces were cut into ovals, domed and center holes cut. The domes were soldered together.  The earrings hang 2" from handmade sterling silver ear wires.

Copper Circles - a 1/4" wide piece of copper was cut, hammered for texture, and then soldered together to form a circle. Sterling silver wire was threaded through and then fired to hold in place. The earrings hang 1.5" from handmade sterling silver ear wires.
